Training

Welcome

Thank you for stopping by and checking out our training programs. This page outlines the training program offerings in Tampa. Information on training programs in  campus and campus can be found on their websites.

Vision Statment: Training exceptional mental health professionals to serve the needs of a diverse and changing global community.

Mission Statement:  To provide comprehensive, competency-based and individualized training underpinned by social justice tenets, in support of the personal and acacademic success of a diverse student body, consistent with the strategic goals of the Counseling Center and the university.

Our center seeks to prepare developing clinicians from multiple disciplines including psychology, counseling, social work, and marriage & family therapy. Our interdisciplinary training programs incorporate the  hallmarks of evidenced based collegiate mental health (individual therapy, group counseling, outreach, consultation, and supervision), a commitment to social justice embedded throughout, and utilizing technology and coordinated treatment with campus partners to provide exceptional care for our students and their whole well-being.

The USF Counseling Center is fully accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services. Our first training program, the doctoral internship, has been continuously accredited by the American Psychological Association for 40 years and we are an active member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers.

If you have any general questions about training with us, please feel free to contact me (Dr. Michael Rogers) directly. I am happy to answer your question myself or get you connected with the right person (such as other staff or current trainees).

Sincerely,

Michael Rogers, Ph.D.
