My approach to therapy:
I am cisgender, South Asian, straight, woman, who immigrated to the U.S. from India. In counseling, I am compassionate, explore your concerns, and collaboratively set reasonable goals to focus on. I hope that I can help you to learn new skills to manage your distress so that you can function well both academically and personally. In the past, clients have appreciated my ability to provide a culturally sensitive environment for them to feel safe, supported, and valued being gently challenged. Overall, I enjoy working with college students and some of my areas of interest are working with first generation students, acculturation, eating concerns, and health psychology.
Approach to Supervision/Training: Competency based supervision while including aspects of developmental model and multiculturalism.
