Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management

The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management at the 91社区 is a 120-credit program that prepares students for leadership roles in the global hospitality industry. The curriculum covers essential areas such as food production, restaurant management, hospitality marketing, and lodging management. Students also gain practical experience through internships and must complete a total of 1,000 industry hours. Graduates are equipped for careers such as Hotel Manager, Food and Beverage Director, or Event Coordinator.

Master of Science in Hospitality Management

The Master of Science in Hospitality Management will educate students to use strategic development techniques in a variety of private, public and institutional sectors of hospitality environments. Graduates of this program will go on to play a vital role in addressing the changes and challenges in the hospitality industry within our region, state, nation and world. An effective hospitality leader must possess a wide range of strategic and conceptual skills. Our program is designed to foster strong analytical skills, technological abilities, effective communication and logical ethical approaches to the hospitality industry and academia. Due to applied nature of the hospitality and tourism industry, the master鈥檚 program requires an internship to apply knowledge learned from the coursework to real-world situations.  In addition to the internship, case studies, experiential learning, research projects, and presentations are utilized, along with the more traditional lecture-discussion approach.

The Hospitality Management Minor at the 91社区 is a 12-credit program designed to provide students with foundational knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry. It includes core courses in hospitality and tourism, restaurant management, and lodging management, with one elective to be chosen from hospitality-related subjects. This minor prepares students for various roles such as Hotel Manager, Restaurant Manager, and Event Coordinator.

The Event Management Certificate at the 91社区 is a 12-credit program designed to equip students with skills in event planning, conventions, meetings, and restaurant management. Core courses include Event Management, Conventions and Meetings Management, and Restaurant Management, with electives like Beverage Management and International Wine & Culture. This certificate can help students pursue roles such as Event Coordinator, Meeting Planner, Convention Manager, and Restaurant Manager.

The Beverage Management Certificate at the 91社区 is a 12-credit program designed to prepare students for roles in beverage operations by equipping them with skills in menu engineering, cultural awareness, and communication. Core courses include the History and Culture of Beer, Beverage Management, International Wine and Culture, and International Whisky and Culture. Graduates can pursue careers such as Beverage Director, Bar Manager, Sommelier, or Beverage Consultant.
