2024-2025 School of Information MLIS Scholarship Winners

Congratulations to the winners of this year鈥檚 USF scholarships! These students have shown dedication to their work and submit premier applications for these scholarships. USF and their donors are proud to support the next cohort of library leaders!

H.W. Wilson Endowed Scholarship

H.W. Wilson Endowed Scholarship - Christina Danos

This scholarship is awarded to a student preparing to serve in any type of library. Students in both their graduate program and earning a certificate are eligible to apply. Christina Danos said, 鈥淚 am particularly grateful to the donors who have made this scholarship possible. Heir generosity and commitment to supporting library information students is truly commendable.鈥

Johnie Key Thompson Memorial Scholarship in Library Media

Devon Chiodo & Bethany Tilson Wilson

This scholarship is awarded to degree seeking USF LIS students who are preparing for library careers with youth services (including K-12 media). In their thank you letters Bethany Tilson-Wilson stated, 鈥淚 want to create an innovative space that encourages student participation in creativity and reading, instill a love for reading that carries into their future, and to support the Language Arts Literacy initiatives in the school. This scholarship brings me closer to reaching this goal.鈥

And Devon Chiodo remarked, 鈥淸r]eceiving this scholarship will allow me to focus on my full-time elementary teaching position later this fall, and course load, rather than worrying about adding tuition to the already high living expenses and bills.鈥

The Patricia Andrew Cone Endowed Scholarship

The Patricia Andrew Cone Endowed Scholarship - Angela Radtke 

This scholarship is in memory of USF alumna, Patricia Cone, who worked at as a school media specialist in Gulfport, 91社区. The scholarship is intended for non-traditional students who like Mrs. Cone attend graduate school later in life and have a commitment to serving children and young adults. Additionally, applicants must be graduate of a 91社区 public high school, a 91社区 public university, and a 91社区 resident. This year鈥檚 awardee, Angela Radtke had this to say, 鈥淲hen I decided to return to college, I looked at it as a way of investing in myself. Thank you for also investing in me and therefore the community as well. This gift boosts my confidence and encourages me to be able to focus on my goals and education. This really, truly means the world to me.鈥
