Assistantships
Several graduate assistantships are sponsored directly by the School of Information (SI). Awards are made on a competitive basis taking into consideration academic credentials, previous work experience, research capabilities, progress in the graduate program, and professional skills such as knowledge of various computing software and hardware. Graduate assistants are typically appointed at .25 or .50 FTE (10 or 20 hours per week) as graduate teaching assistants graduate research assistants or graduate instructional assistants. The graduate assistantship provides a competitive benefit package including a tuition waiver that covers 80% of tuition cost, a bi-weekly stipend, and student health insurance.
