Award Descriptions
USF World is proud to sponsor the 2025 Global Excellence Awards. These Awards recognize the remarkable work of our faculty, staff, and administrators in the areas of research, teaching and learning, and advocacy.
- The 2025 Global Excellence Awards are awarded for contributions that advance the University
of South 91社区鈥檚 global footprint and our reputation for high-caliber research,
innovative teaching, and advocacy on behalf of the benefits of global engagement.
- Nominees will be recognized for their accomplishments in the categories of globally-focused
Research, globally-engaged Teaching and Learning, and global Advocacy.
- Awardees will be competitively evaluated and those selected will receive an honorarium
of $2,500 each for the Research and Teaching and Learning awards and $1,000 each for
the Advocacy award.
- Awards will be presented at the USF Faculty Honors and Awards Program on April 15,
2025. Please hold this date on your calendars. RSVP information will be distributed separately.
- Winners of previous USF World Global Excellence or Global Achievement Awards are not eligible for the current cycle of awards. View a list of previous recipients.
Nomination requirements
- Nominees must have been employed on or before January 1, 2022, and remain employed
and in good standing at USF at the time awards are announced.
- Recognized global achievement(s) while employed at USF within the 2023 and/or 2024
calendar years (January of 2023 through December of 2024).
- Two letters of support describing the achievement(s) and discussing the global significance
of the contribution made by the nominee are required. One of the letters must be from
an immediate supervisor, Chair, School Director, Associate Dean, or Dean. A second
letter should be submitted from a colleague, partner, student, or other relevant voice.
- A comprehensive and compelling narrative that addresses:
- The purpose, significance, and/or uniqueness of the global achievement/project/initiative/award.
- Impact of the achievement(s) on a field of study (knowledge generation), on student achievement (student learning outcomes), on faculty development, or on the adoption of global practices or engagement at USF.
- Extension or enhancement of global engagement by/at USF as a result of the initiative or achievement.
- Demonstrated impact on global literacy, intercultural awareness, global engagement, institutional partnership, or the enhancement of USF鈥檚 global footprint, reputation, or on-campus engagement.
- Evidence of sustainability or continued success.

Nomination process
Individuals may self-nominate or be nominated by another party. More than one nomination may be made from a college/school/department or unit.
Each nomination must be submitted through . Nominations are due by the close of business on January 31, 2025, and selected awardees will be notified by March 3, 2025. Direct links to the InfoReady applications will be available on December 1, 2024.
