SMART Lab
Testing
The SMART Lab is open only for testing during designated test days. Students should arrive at each test with the following items:
- Valid USF Student ID
- Approved calculator (TI-30XIIS calculators ONLY)
- calculators may NOT be shared
- cover removed
Scratch paper will be provided and collected upon completion.
If you do not have any of these items you may leave to get them and return to take the test during the same testing time period, but no extra time will be given to complete the test. If you do not have the correct calculator you may choose to take the test without one or attempt to borrow one from the library, while supplies last.
ELECTRONICS MUST BE TURNED OFF AND PLACED ON THE FLOOR. If you are found to have an electronic device (including cell phones, smart watches or headphones) turned on inside the Lab during testing, penalties will range from a zero for your test score and up to a FF in your course.
You can NOT bring a backpack, purse, laptop, food, etc. into the testing area. If you arrive with any of these items, you will need to deposit them along a wall at the entrance of the SMART Lab where their security cannot be guaranteed. You will be allowed to carry in a closed clear one-gallon (or smaller) plastic bag which must be placed under the desk and be out of reach. Any electronics in the plastic bag must be turned off.
Restroom Breaks? Raise your hand and wait for someone to escort you; no additional time will be given.
Late? You may arrive late but will not be given any extra time.
Technical problems? For any technical problems during the test, raise your hand and report the problem to a proctor or staff member immediately.
