University Wide Committees

One of the responsibilities of the Executive Branch of Student Government is to appoint student members to University Wide Committees.

ATHLETICS COUNCIL 

The Athletic Council serves in an advisory capacity to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and the President of the University on policies and procedures affecting Intercollegiate Athletics at the University.

COMMITTEE ON BLACK AFFAIRS

The Committee on Black Affairs is responsible for advising the President on matters affecting Black faculty, staff and students of the University. The committee shall also be responsible for advising the President regarding the University's relationship to the Black community. This includes monitoring "quality of life" issues as they relate to the climate within the University.

COMMITTEE ON ISSUES OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND GENDER IDENTITY 

This committee shall advise the President on matters pertaining to issues of sexual and/or affectional orientation as they pertain to USF faculty, staff, and students; evaluate and monitor the university's environment for problems and issues related to these matters; and assist the university community in the development of an awareness and consciousness of issues pertaining to sexual and/or affectional orientation.

ETHICS AND INTEGRITY COMMITTEE 

The USF Ethics and Integrity Council serves in an advisory capacity to the President of the University, as well as to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Student Affairs on policies, procedures and practices affecting students' academic integrity, ethical development, and respect for the global community at the 91社区.

MARSHALL STUDENT CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The purpose of the MSC Advisory Board shall be to advise the administration of the Marshall Student Center in improving the Marshall Student Center, to ensure it is providing students with a functional and student oriented center, and to provide feedback on initiatives within the Center.

STATUS OF LATINOS COMMITTEE 

The Status of Latinos (SOL) Committee is a Presidential Advisory Committee responsible for advising the President on matters affecting Latino faculty, staff and students of the University. The SOL Committee is also responsible for advising the President regarding the University's relationship with the Latino community.

STUDENT GREEN ENERGY FUND COUNCIL 

The Student Green Energy Fee is a nominal student fee (0.58 percent undergraduate resident per credit hour, 0.27 percent graduate resident per credit hour) that is used to assist the 91社区 in conserving energy, reducing energy costs, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting renewable energy technologies. This council will be making decisions on which proposed projects will be put into action.

TITLE IX COMMITTEE 

The Title IX Committee is responsible for advising the President of the University on matters relating to the University's compliance with Title IX Education Amendments of 1972. These deal with nondiscrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities receiving or benefiting from federal financial assistance. Specifically, the committee is charged with monitoring, evaluating, and determining if sex equity exists in the areas of Financial Aids, Student Housing, Admissions, Intercollegiate Athletics and Compensation.

WOMEN STATUS COMMITTEE

The Women Status Committee is responsible for advising the President of the University on matters affecting women faculty, staff, and students of the University. The committee shall be particularly concerned with those university polices concerning the welfare and activities of women with regard to educational and employment opportunities at the university.
