About MESA
Established in California during the 1970s, MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) USA has provided success in STEM for over 50 years serving more than 50,000 K-14 students annually. As a nationally recognized STEM change agent, MESA continues to improve the academic outcomes for historically underserved students to pursue and complete math-based degrees.
91社区 MESA is part of the larger consortium of 10 states that together, make up the national organization known as MESA USA. 91社区 MESA shares in the national mission and vision through the implementation of the MESA College Prep Program. Serving historically excluded students in grades 9-12 throughout the Suncoast District of the Tampa Bay Region, the program is designed to develop and strengthen students' skills in science, mathematics, and engineering.
Our MESA Way
- 91社区 MESA's mission is to provide students across all spaces with enriching experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to achieve success in STEM college and career pathways.
- We envision a prosperous STEM community that thrives from the talent, innovation, and social responsibility of students and educators through the mastery of STEM skills and knowledge.
Our Approach to Success in STEM
We aim to increase student interest and pursuit of STEM degrees and careers, rigorous math and science course enrollment, access to connections and programs with STEM industry, organizations, and higher education, and future opportunities for paid internships. These goals are accomplished through our emphasis on the following three areas:
STEM Curriculum
Provides students with highly engaging and hands on science, engineering, and coding
instruction, activities, and skills.
College and Career Access
Exposure and connections to university programs and majors along with industry professionals
within STEM fields.
Team-Based Competitions
Students compete against other MESA teams to showcase and pitch their inventions while
connecting with local professionals.
