Clinical Opportunities
The Residential Master's program in Speech Language Pathology includes practica at the USF Speech Language Clinic and in a wide array of community settings. Students are required to complete 3 rotations at the USF clinic during their first year. Clinical rotations include experiences with a variety of clients and disorders, from early intervention to adults. During the second year, students complete two externships at different sites in the community, and one advanced practicum at the USF clinic. Advanced practicum may also be completed at a community site. USF has an affiliation with over 200 sites in the community, including Hillsborough and other Tampa Bay counties. These affiliations are with local hospitals, VA hospitals, rehabilitation centers, school districts, charter schools, private clinics, and outpatient clinics, among others.
