SHRM Aligned Program

The Master of Science in Management program offers advanced education in management theories, principles, and best practices. The program prepares students with a foundation in theories, methods, and findings of basic and applied research along with the skills to effectively apply this knowledge in organizations. This degree facilitates a comprehensive understanding of interpersonal and organizational dynamics and considers the organization鈥檚 broader social, ethical, and legal environment. Graduates of this program possess a unique skill set that merges classic management abilities with contemporary topics like project management, collaboration science, and people analytics. The curriculum in the program offers a compelling balance between conceptual and analytical content. The MS Management program develops leaders who promote organizational success by: understanding both interpersonal and organizational dynamics; assessing organizational strengths and weaknesses; considering the broader social, ethical, and legal environment; and implementing change when appropriate.

The MS Management degree offers a career boost to individuals who are seeking to advance their business knowledge after completion of their undergraduate degrees. In addition to offering a general course of study, students can choose among five different concentrations (human resource management, project management, contemporary management, quantitative management, and management information systems) to optimize the alignment with their career interests.

Prior professional work experience is preferred but not required for admission to the program. There are no course-specific pre-requisites, which makes it an appealing degree for professionals seeking a change in their career. Developed with flexibility in mind for working professionals, the program can be completed part-time (taking a maximum of up to five years), or full-time in as little as one year. On-campus courses are offered on the Tampa campus in the evenings, and in some cases there are hybrid and/or online options.

Students can expect exciting career opportunities upon completing the program. About 70% of students report having employment upon graduation, with an average salary of $72,500 a year. Examples of prominent employers include Publix Supermarkets, Citi, DTCC, and Bay Care Health System.
