Programs of Strategic Emphasis Waiver-Course Eligibility

Only upper division courses, 3000-4000 level, required to complete the academic program are eligible. This includes required electives and required courses offered by other departments.
Courses may be taken in the fall, spring, or summer terms. The waiver will cover up to 110% of the number of required credit hours for the program.
The 110% will be based on the number of credit hours required at the time that a student is admitted to the major, regardless of whether the number of hours required increases or decreases at a later point in time.
If a student鈥檚 registration puts their total program hours over 110% of the required hours, all eligible courses may not be covered by the waiver. Ex. You registered for 8 upper level credits hours. 110% of your program hours is 144. Your registration brings your total program hours to 148 hours. Only 4 credit hours will be eligible for the waiver.
The waiver will be applied to all eligible courses\hours for a semester. Students will not be allowed to "bank" waiver hours for use in future terms.
The waiver cannot be applied retroactively to prior terms.
Courses classified as self-funded or market rate are not eligible.
The waiver will not be applied if a student鈥檚 tuition and fees are being covered/waived by any other statutory waiver (i.e. DCF, Homeless).
