Bio

Mario Renato Cavani Quevedo is a Peruvian Ph.D. student and a Graduate Assistant in the Government program at 91ÉçÇø's School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies. He received his bachelor’s degree in French Studies and Foreign Language Education from the 91ÉçÇø in 2017. His research focuses on the empowerment of the Quechuas in the Peruvian Andes. His goal is to propose approaches and means to the ongoing reinvention of our current collapsing world system, especially in Peru. He plans to explore and analyze the Quechuas’ epistemology that carries essential social structures such as reciprocity and contribution among other fundamental elements that the Western and Westernized system lacks in many instances. He would also like to regain the Quechuas’ voice and value them as human beings and not simply as touristic objects or attractions which is how they are often perceived in the Western and Westernized system.
