Bio
My research explores questions at the intersection of biological anthropology and archaeology, most notably in the fields of bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology. I maintain interest in diverse bioarchaeological questions and have conducted field and laboratory work in the United States, Peru, and the Transylvanian region of Romania. I have an active bioarchaeological research program in Transylvania focused on better understanding medieval Hungarian communities. This project is available for both USF and non-USF students through the USF Education Abroad Office as the USF in Romania study abroad offering. Related to forensic anthropology, I am interested in better understanding modern human skeletal biology to improve estimation of the biological profile and am especially interested in understanding how forensic anthropology is practiced outside of the United States. I have worked as an instructor for numerous courses in forensic anthropology with the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) in Colombia and Algeria, as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Tbilisi, Georgia.
