Ainun Nadhifah, Class of 2020
October 29, 2019
Before pursuing her masters degree at USF, Ainun Nadhifah focused much of her time as a junior researcher at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences in Indonesia.
鈥淚'm interested in plant systematics, especially in early land plants (bryophytes), which includes activities of collecting, documenting, and describing the species from the molecular level to the variation of morphology and applying this knowledge to conservation,鈥 Nadhifah said.
Earlier this year, in the midst of working on her project as a researcher in Indonesia, Nadhifah was invited to present about it at the 2019 Herbarium and Bryology conference in Madrid, Spain. The event included a three-day excursion in the high-summits of the Gredos Range to explore the bryophyte diversity in the area.
鈥淪upported by , USF World, and the International Association of Bryologists, I presented the current status of the bryophyte flora from Central 91社区,鈥 Nadhifah said. 鈥淎ttending the conference was a great opportunity for me since I had valuable discussion from international scientists.
Nadhifah credits the conference as being an impactful and contributive moment to her career path. After graduating from USF with her masters in Biology in May 2020, Nadhifah will continue to work as a researcher in Indonesia.
