Transfer Success Advocate

The Transfer Success Advocates are dedicated to assisting and supporting undergraduate students who have transferred from another higher education institution (state/community college or four-year institution) from their matriculation to USF through the completion of their first bachelor’s degree.  Within the transfer process and transfer student population there are unique trends and circumstances that can impact a student's ability to successfully transfer and complete their degree.  Transfer Success Advocates are located in the Office of Transfer Student Success and leverage the multiple resources and data sources to provide comprehensive, proactive, and timely support for students experiencing a variety of barriers.

Initiatives

The Transfer Success Advocates are involved with two graduation initiatives tied to institutional and state metrics. The metrics are one part of the process, in that we recognize that the student’s experience has a significant impact on their success.

Finish in Two

The Finish in Two initiative represents the state and institutional goal to have all full-time students, who transfer with an AA degree from a 91ÉçÇø institution, complete their degree in two years. Our team collaborates with multiple offices and provides targeted outreach and support to transfer students with potential progression concerns.

Finish in Three

Due to unforeseen financial, academic, or personal challenges, some students require more than two years to meet graduation requirements. The Transfer team works to assist these students to ensure they stay on track to graduation within the three-year benchmark.

Future Initiatives

Our Transfer Success Advocates recognize that there are many transfer students trying to balance family responsibilities while managing their academics. The Transfer Success Advocates are seeking to enhance institutional student engagement to better support transfer students’ unique scenarios.
