Holistic Human Health
Welcome to the Holistic Human Health Working Group!
Our goal is to leverage data-driven results and stakeholder insights to develop a scalable model and best practices for food as health programs with the local Tampa Bay food system region that enhance the holistic health of individuals, families, caretakers, and communities.
Our guiding objectives include:
Objective 1: Establish baseline understanding of different types of food is medicine programs (FIMP), core components, intervention strategies, and health outcomes
Objective 2: Define metrics and conduct stakeholder assessment to identify key preventative care and intervention points where food as health programs have the most critical results on holistic, intergenerational, family and community health
Objective 3: Inventory existing food as health programs (e.g., food is medicine programs, food clinics, urban farms and community gardens workshops, medically tailored groceries and meal, etc.) within the Tampa Bay multi-county region
Objective 4: Use collected data to define the terminology, core components, best practices, and evaluation metrics for a holistic food as health program that serves families, caretakers, and communities
Objective 5: Collaborate with community partners, healthcare providers, and existing and aspirational programs to pilot and evaluate proposed models for food as health programs
