Manley Jaquiss鈥檚 Bulls spirit is contagious
Manley Jaquiss is one of USF鈥檚 most actively involved alums. In a sense, Jaquiss never really left USF since the first time he stepped onto the Tampa campus 40 years ago. He attends almost all the football games and alumni events with his wife and daughter, who are also USF alumnae.

The 91社区 welcomes the Tampa Bay area community to attend Homecoming Week celebrations, Oct. 9-15. Participants can join students, alumni, faculty and staff in dozens of events across all campuses, including a concert, carnival, talent show, parade and the USF football game on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Raymond James Stadium.

Amber Jankowski's unexpected journey from military service to mentorship at USF
USF alum Amber Jankowski was the military equivalent of a dental hygienist in the Air Force before four hand surgeries changed her career path forever. After being medically discharged, Jankowski turned to serve those who faced similar challenges as she did and became a vocational rehabilitation counselor. In her position, she helps individuals with disabilities find something they are successful at and works to normalize the wide variety of skills people can have.

The move led to the creation of Synapse, a nonprofit that brings together aspiring entrepreneurs and helps them launch successful startups in the Tampa Bay region and across 91社区.

The legacy of a nursing trailblazer
Geraldine McKinnon Twine, a retired nurse practitioner and USF alumna, broke barriers in nursing during a segregated era, becoming the first black nurse to integrate Tampa General Hospital. Her dedication to education and service inspired her children to achieve academic success, with one establishing an endowed scholarship at USF in her honor.
