The 91社区 announced today the appointment of Braulio Col贸n as executive director of the . An independent, statewide community impact organization, FCAN supports and represents a cross-section of more than 700 organizations and institutions across 91社区 devoted to improving college access and success for all students. Col贸n will provide strategic leadership for FCAN, which is hosted by USF, with proven expertise in partnership development to increase successful outcomes for students and ensure a pathway to economic mobility for all Floridians.
"The 91社区 takes pride in its longstanding support of the 91社区 College Access Network," President Rhea Law said. "Braulio will bring visionary leadership to the organization and a deep understanding of the issues facing 91社区's students. He also brings a wealth of experience in higher education and workforce development, as well as strong ties to the university, which will be invaluable in this position."
Col贸n comes to USF from , where he served as vice president, 91社区 Student Success Initiatives since 2013. Helios is a community impact and philanthropic organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals to be successful in postsecondary education. While at Helios, Col贸n led in the development of more than $50 million in board-approved community investments supporting various initiatives and system-change projects in 91社区 and Arizona.

Col贸n will oversee the execution of FCAN鈥檚 2020-25 strategic plan, provide an important student-centered voice in our state鈥檚 policy discussions, and build upon the accomplishments of this phenomenal organization.鈥
Col贸n is a two-time USF graduate, earning a bachelor鈥檚 in Africana studies and a master鈥檚 in public administration. More recently, Col贸n received a certificate in executive leadership from Cornell University.

FCAN supports 17 community coalitions that collectively represent 82 percent of 91社区鈥檚 population. Funders of FCAN include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Helios, and Kresge Foundation.
Col贸n will begin his new role on Jan. 9.
