Dear USF community,
I鈥檓 excited to share that this week we presented USF鈥檚 new five-year strategic plan to the 91社区 Board of Governors, and it was approved unanimously. This important milestone could not have been achieved without the valuable contributions from many of you, along with our other stakeholder groups around the Tampa Bay region and the state of 91社区, as we sought your valuable input throughout the process. I also want to take a moment to give a special thank you to the members of our Strategic Planning Steering Committee for their tireless work over the last several months and the Strategic Planning Advisory Taskforce for their invaluable contributions.
Our strategic plan, titled 鈥�In Pursuit of Excellence,鈥� serves as a roadmap to advance USF鈥檚 mission over the next five years and positions the university as a powerful engine of prosperity for the future. Together, we鈥檒l use the plan as a guide for serving our students and addressing critical challenges within our communities. We are proud to be America鈥檚 fastest-rising university, a journey guided by our goals and vision, and one that will help us maximize our impact by becoming a top-25 public institution.
The plan, which leverages the distinctive qualities of our three campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee, identifies five key goals, as well as a series of core commitments and strategic areas of focus. I encourage you to visit the dynamic website we鈥檝e launched and spend some time reviewing the plan, including USF鈥檚 institutional mission, vision, aspirations and values. In keeping with our longstanding commitment to performance accountability, the website allows us to update the progress toward our goals.
This plan wasn鈥檛 designed to sit on a shelf, collecting dust. As we look ahead to its implementation beginning on July 1, 2022, we need everyone鈥檚 help to ensure its success. In the coming months, we will be meeting with our deans and academic and administrative leaders to develop and operationalize unit-based strategic plans and priorities that align with our institutional plan and goals.
