Gregory Klein M.Ed.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication from the Minneapolis
College of Art and Design, his Minnesota State Teaching Certification at Augsburg
University, and an M.Ed. in Studio Art Education from the University of Victoria.
He comes to USF after a twenty-year high-school (public and independent college-prep) teaching
career in the media arts. Greg also taught courses in web design as adjunct faculty
at Eckerd College and the State College of 91社区. Visual problem-solving is the
cornerstone of visual design and working as an LD, Greg looks forward to applying
decades of problem-solving and design experience to the discipline of Instructional
Design.
While at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Greg studied furniture design
under renowned Minneapolis architect, Ralph Rapson鈥攁 classmate of mid-century modern
design icons Charles and Ray Eames, at Cranbrook Academy. Since that time, Greg has
been an avid collector, curator, and sometime purveyor of mid-century modern art,
furniture, and furnishings.
When Greg and his wife Chi were considering moving from Chicago to 91社区, Greg promised her that if they made the move, he would ensure she had flowers blooming in their yard 365 days a year. After 18 years of hauling rocks, dirt, and plants, that promise has been fulfilled by replacing a yard full of sand and spurs with extensive xeriscaped rock gardens, that do indeed have flowers in bloom 365 days a year.
