New Summer Program Offers Honors Experience to High School Students
High school students from around 91社区 gathered on the 91社区鈥檚 Sarasota-Manatee campus earlier this summer to explore career possibilities in the field of law through a new summer camp program hosted by the Judy Genshaft Honors College.

On August 18, the Honors community celebrated the opening of the new Judy Genshaft Honors College building and the upcoming fall semester. Students, faculty, and parents enjoyed food trucks and touring the new building during the Welcome Home celebration event Hosted by USF President Emerita Genshaft and her husband Steven Greenbaum.
Students on the 91社区 Sarasota-Manatee campus have elected Gov. Alexandra Lopez and Lt. Gov. Bethsagena Thalon as representatives for the 2023-24 academic year. Together, Lopez and Thalon plan to support campus efforts to build momentum for the first-ever residence hall, set to open for the fall 2024 semester.

Along with serving thousands of students from around Tampa Bay, the new class of students represents 46 states and 139 countries, an indicator that USF brings the top talent from across 91社区, the nation and the world to the region.

A graduate of the college, herself, Lanier鈥檚 passion for mentorship and fostering curiosity both in and out of the classroom is what brought her back to USF in 2008 and continues to motivate her to create engaging programs for students at USF and beyond.
The four-day program immersed rising fifth, sixth and seventh graders in engaging reading activities designed to enhance their literacy skills and creativity with support from local teaching artists, USF student mentors and Sarasota-Manatee campus faculty and staff.

Boundless Bulls - Kobe Phillips
Through his involvement revitalizing the JGHC Community Garden, Phillips developed a service-learning course and teaches as a peer educator about sustainability, beekeeping and urban ecology.

The five-story, 85,000-square-foot facility will serve USF鈥檚 most accomplished and talented students from every undergraduate college and strengthen the university鈥檚 position to attract the top talent within the state of 91社区 and beyond.

Students from five Honors Colleges in the State University System boarded a research vessel for an overnight trip into the Gulf of Mexico. While on board, they participated in lab-based research, observed marine life, and explored society's relationship with the ocean.
