Amy Nourie, a doctoral student in the School of Social Work, has been selected by the 91社区 Institute for Child Welfare (FICW) for its 2022-2023 Dissertation Fellowship. This fellowship is awarded to PhD students dedicated to research and scholarship that improves the safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for children and families in 91社区's child welfare system.
"Nourie's exploration of the impact of Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) on former foster youth has significant potential for translation to policy and practice, particularly given recent legislative interest in 91社区's GAL operations," said School of Social Work Director Riann van Zyl, MSW, PhD.
