2021-2022 Students
Omar Bazerbachi was born in the United States and spent the majority of his life in Saudi Arabia.
Before transferring to the 91ÉçÇø Omar completed an internship
at the international investment bank BLOMINVEST. There, between the walls of the Asset
Management department, Omar’s passion for investment and equity analysis emerged.
Following the path he paved with devotion and perseverance, Omar is currently pursuing
a degree in Finance with a concentration on Investment Analysis at USF, while maintaining
a 3.94 GPA in his business classes. Omar believes that success starts with a step
outside of one’s comfort zone and a willingness to face new challenges; thus, he trusts
that joining ASA would bear a real-life analysis experience and solidify his technical
and fundamental financial skills. Aspiring to pursue a career in Asset Management
upon receiving his degree, Omar is working towards gaining his CFA Level I certification
before graduating.
Hetali Bhuta is a senior majoring in Finance with a concentration in Investment Analysis. Bhuta
has participated in the Student Finance Association, Student Investment Club, SoFlo
Raas, and Students of Indian Association. Bhuta has made the Dean’s list every semester
and maintained a GPA of 3.95. She became interested in Finance and business in high
school due to her entrepreneurial family. Bhuta is fancied by the concept of compounding,
as making the right investment can save a lot of time, money, and energy. She views
investing as gardening, if seeds are planted at the right time and seasoned with the
correct amount of time, they can yield fruits for many years. Bhuta came to ASA with
the aspiration to develop conviction, discipline, and the process of making sound
investments. She is a vivid learner and a disciplined person in life. On the professional
side, she plans to earn the CFA designation and work in Asset Management and Wealth
management sectors. Bhuta is taking the CFA Level 1 exam in November 2021. She loves
giving back to society and has volunteered in several NGOs. In the future, she plans
to start an Endowment fund to support the construction of schools and hospitals in
rural India.
Miranda Brozik is a senior pursuing a degree in Finance with a concentration in Investment Analysis.
She is a member of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society and works as a Compliance
Analyst with Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Miranda has 7+ years of experience in banking
and with this experience, has discovered a true passion for the finance industry.
After graduating, Miranda aspires to pursue a career in equity research. She is hoping
to strengthen both her fundamental and technical analysis skills by joining the Applied
Securities Analysis course.
Carlos Taguchi Godoi Bueno is a first-generation international student, born and raised in Brazil, and is set
to graduate in May 2022. He is a senior pursuing a double major in Finance, with a
concentration in Asset Management, and Quantitative Economics and Econometrics. Through
his academic classes, Carlos has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.97. In his sophomore
and junior years at USF, he served as the Vice-President for the Economics Scholars
Society and CIO for the Student Investment Club which allowed him to develop his leadership
and interpersonal skills. This past summer he interned with Citi as an ICG Operations
Summer Analyst and he is currently interning with StepStone Group, a private equity
institution with over $90 billion AUM, as a Portfolio Analytics and Reporting Intern.
Carlos is excited to join the Applied Securities Analysis program and believes this
challenge will help him to further develop his stock valuation and financial modeling
skills through real-life experiences. After graduating, he plans to pursue a career
in either equity research or wealth management.
Julian Del Hoyo Tucci is a senior pursuing a degree in Finance with a concentration in investment analysis
accompanied by a minor in Economics. Born and raised in Uruguay, he came to the US
in search of opportunities to pursue his passion for financial markets. In addition
to being an analyst of the Student Managed Investment Fund, he is currently serving
as a Resident Assistant for USF Housing, counseling and advising 43 students on various
personal and academic issues. Through his business classes, he has maintained a 3.92
GPA and made the Dean’s List on several occasions. He is set to graduate in May 2022.
After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in investment banking as well as obtaining
his CFA designation.
Tyler Kielma is a senior pursuing a degree in finance with a concentration in asset management
and a minor in economics. He was born in Kentucky but grew up in Western New York
before moving to 91ÉçÇø and attending USF. He is a member of the Honors College,
the Business Honors Program, the professional business fraternity Phi Chi Theta, and
held an executive position in the Business Honors Service Association. During the
Summer of 2021 he interned at FIS in the Credit and Debit Operations division on the
Special Handling team. He developed a love for finance and investing his first year
in college during his preliminary finance classes. After his graduation in the spring
of 2022, he plans to return to USF to pursue an MBA as well as getting his Chartered
Financial Analyst designation and then begin is professional career in the world of
finance.
Zoran Knezevic is a first generation college student in his senior year pursuing a degree in finance
with a concentration in asset management, along with a minor in business analytics
and information systems. Outside of the Student Managed Investment Fund, Knezevic
is involved in the professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and is involved
in the student investment club’s equity research team as the Head Analyst for the
consumer sector. Last spring, Knezevic was part of the first cohort of 20 students
to receive a scholarship for the SIE exam, sponsored by Franklin Templeton. Shortly
after, he obtained his SIE certification and secured a summer internship with Franklin
Templeton in their internal sales division. Knezevic aims to improve his research
and analysis skills through the Applied Securities Analysis program in his pursuit
of a career in equity research. After graduation, he plans to pursue a Master’s in
Finance degree and obtain his CFA certification.
Samuel Micio is a senior pursuing a degree in finance, and a passionate investor who traded his
first stock at age 16. Growing up in the Finger Lakes region of New York, Micio operated
a nationwide e-commerce store. During his freshman year at USF, Micio co-founded tech
startup What’s the Move?, which will launch its nightlife/social media app Slyde this
fall. This past summer, Micio interned at Realty Executives’ commercial brokerage
in Knoxville, Tennessee. Additionally, Micio interned in real estate acquisitions
and development at Baker Creek and 906 Sevier Avenue, also in Knoxville. Micio is
part of the Young Leaders Group at the Urban Land Institute of Atlanta. Micio is also
active on campus at USF, having founded the Green & Gold Capital Group investment
club during his freshman year, and co-founded the Mu Nu Upsilon professional finance
fraternity during the fall 2021 semester. In addition to finance and real estate,
Micio is passionate about a variety of causes including ethical technology and is
a member of LookUp.Live’s Leadership Lab in Concord, Massachusetts. Micio is hoping
the ASA program will help sharpen his skills in financial & securities analysis. Upon
graduation, Micio will pursue a career in investments with aspirations to start his
own asset management firm.
Umang Patel is a first generation college student set to graduate in December 2022. He is a junior pursuing a dual-degree in Finance, with a concentration in Investment Analysis, and Quantitative Economics and Econometrics. Through his classes, he has maintained a 4.0 GPA. This past summer, Umang was a commercial banking summer analyst at Capital One in the Financial Institutions Group and is currently an investment banking intern at Crosstree, a local boutique investment bank exclusively focused on the life sciences industry. He also spent part of his sophomore year at Ballast Point Ventures, a private equity fund in Tampa. He hopes to develop his leadership and technical skills through the Applied Securities Analysis program/USF Student Managed Investment Fund, with the ambition of starting a career as an investment banker in New York City.
