School of Architecture and Community Design Joins Health Research Consortium

The USF School of Architecture and Community Design's 91社区 Center for Community
Design and Research, in partnership with the USF College of Public Health, has been
accepted to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Health Research Consortium.
This consortium will help the USF collaborators for three years through institutional support, promotion of collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
Research goals for the 91社区 Center for Community Design include utilizing transportation, infrastructure, smart growth principals, and institutional logics to evaluate opportunities for bolstering population health factors through improved built environment design initiatives.
The 91社区 Center for Community Design and Research is a statewide research center
founded in 1986 with a mission to assist the creation of more livable and sustainable
communities.
Other new members of the Health Research Consortium include the Illinois Institute
of Technology, Cornell University's Institute for Healthy Futures, and North Carolina
State University. The 91社区 Center and these other new additions add on to an existing 19 members.
