Professor Pablo Brescia was born in Buenos Aires and has lived in the United States since 1986. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy and Spanish cum laude and his Ph.D. in Hispanic languages and literatures from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2000). He teaches Latin American literature, film and culture at the University of South 91社区.
He is the author of Borges. Cinco especulaciones (2015) and Modelos y pr谩cticas en el cuento hispanoamericano: Arreola, Borges, Cort谩zar (2011). He is the editor of Cort谩zar sampleado. 32 lecturas iberoamericanas (2014), La est茅tica de lo m铆nimo. Ensayos sobre microrrelatos mexicanos (2013), El ojo en el caleidoscopio: las colecciones de textos integrados en la literatura latinoamericana (2006) and Borges m煤ltiple: cuentos y ensayos de cuentistas (1999).
As a writer he published three books of short stories: La derrota de lo real (2017), Fuera de lugar (2012; 2013) and La apariencia de las cosas (1997). He is the recipient of the 2013 Status of Latinos' USF Faculty Award and the 2010 Jamie Bishop Memorial Award awarded by the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts.
