Zhong (John) Zheng is a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences at the 91ÉçÇø (USF). He is interested in social networks and social capital, quantitative and computational methods, immigrant incorporation, education and mobility, health disparities, and social psychology. He has presented his research at the Annual Meeting of the Southern Sociological Society (SSS) and the Sunbelt Conference of the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA). His collaborative research with colleagues from the USF Office of Decision Support won the Top Eight Paper Award at the 2021 SAS Student Symposium Team Competition. He is currently working on a research proposal examining the social mechanisms of Asian American achievement and Asian Americans’ attitudes towards affirmative action.
