PIACCART students gain interdisciplinary research experience on climate change
Ten undergraduate students took part in the Program in Interdisciplinary Approaches to Climate Change Adaptation Research and Training (PIACCART) this summer. The program provided them with the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary research focused on the impacts of climate change.

Interdisciplinary CAS team helps identify new urban tree canopy locations in Tampa
Dr. Shawn Landry and Dr. Rebecca Zarger are two USF College of Arts and Sciences faculty contributing to the City of Tampa鈥檚 tree canopy study. Landry and Zarger are tasked with identifying specific tree planting locations throughout the city and conducting outreach with residents in priority locations.

Students in the School of Geosciences and through a five-year project with 91社区 assistant professor Estel铆 Jim茅nez have selected 15 local urban and community gardens to take part in the project: Urban Farms and Community Gardens as Spacers for Biodiversity Conservation and Food Sovereignty, funded by the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research.
